TWCA Summer Conference

After discussion and weighing options with TWCA staff, the TWCA Executive Committee has determined that moving forward with an in-person Summer Conference that includes safety protocols is the appropriate course of action at this time. We know that many of our members are ready to connect with colleagues and are hopeful that we can provide a safe and fun event in June! As it relates to COVID-19, key considerations include:

  1. To safeguard all live attendees, we ask participants to self-verify each day that they are not currently experiencing and have not recently experienced symptoms of COVID-19 as defined by the CDC, nor have they had any close contact with anyone who is either confirmed or suspected of being infected with COVID-19 within the previous 14 day period.
  2. We encourage attendees to be vaccinated if possible.
  3. Networking events may be held outdoors if space and weather allows.
  4. Masks are currently required in the public areas of the hotel, and we will strongly encourage/expect attendees to keep them on in the speaker session rooms as well.
  5. We have rented all of the hotel meeting space and intend to space seating out as much as possible.

I acknowledge and understand the following:

  1. Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to COVID-19. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of illness does exist.
  2. I acknowledge that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By attending the Summer Conference in person, I and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold TWCA, the Horseshoe Bay Resort, or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.
  3. I agree to comply with any local ordinances that may be in place and any COVID-related procedures that may be required by the conference facility or TWCA designed to protect the health and safety of staff and attendees.
