Lecture: Recent Advances in Understanding Flow and Transport in Carbonate Aquifers

Next up in Edwards Aquifer Authority's Distinguished Lecturer series: On Friday, March 19, 2010, Dr. Stepher Worthington (Worthington Groundwater, Dundas, Ontario, Canada) will present a one-day workshop on carbonate aquifers, focusing on the exciting studies of the last 10 years that have helped to integrate the largely independent fields of research using wells on one hand and tracer tests, springs, and caves on the other hand. TWCA Drainage District Panel Meeting, Aug. 20

The TWCA Drainage District Panel has scheduled a meeting for all interested parties to discuss common issues and concerns relative to Drainage Districts and other Special Districts. Specific topics will include FEMA Assistance Program and grant opportunities following disasters such as hurricanes that could affect all districts along the Texas Coast.

The meeting will be held at the Hilton Houston Hobby Airport Hotel, 8181 Airport Blvd., Houston, Texas, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009. The Texas Water Development Board has released its list of 2009 Priority Water Research Topics with a Request for Statements of Qualifications for potential applicants.

The Texas Water Development Board is requesting Statements of Interest (SOIs) from interested political subdivisions. These SOIs will be used to provide the U.S. Congress with a list of projects for funding consideration under the Texas Environmental Infrastructure Program (TEIP).
