The Texas Water Conservation Association (TWCA) will again furnish a Legislative News Service for the Regular Session of the Eighty-Second (82nd) Texas Legislature, which convenes in January, 2011. Prefiling of bills began on November 8, 2010. TWCA's Legislative News provides an analysis of bills of significant interest to TWCA members and the status of these bills as they move through the legislative process. The Legislative News also includes notice of committee hearings on bills. During the 81st legislative session, TWCA briefed and/or monitored approximately 300 bills considered to be of interest to TWCA members.

TWCA's Legislative News includes two tracking reports developed and maintained by TWCA staff, one for bills of general interest to TWCA members and one for bills considered to be of higher priority. The reports are kept up-to-date electronically on a regular basis beginning in November, 2010, and through the session. Reports will be e-mailed to subscribers as updates are made. A final update is provided for legislation passed. The Legislative News will also be available in the "Legislative Subscribers" section of TWCA's website.
